The President |
Currently the Commission president is Jean-Claude Juncker. He will hold office from 2014-2019. As president, Juncker decides the Commission's policy agenda, and chairs the weekly meetings, in attempt to represent the general European interest. During major debates in the European Parliament and the Council the president will represent the Commission. The president is elected every 5 years by the European Parliament.
